  • -HTML is an acronym for HyperText Markup Language. HTML is the basic language in building websites. HTML was created by Tim Berners-Lee in 1991 but "HTML 2.0" was the first HTML standard published in 1995.

    The most widely used HTML version was "HTML 4.01" released in 1999. An extension of this version is "HTML 5" released in 2012 which is also the current version of HTML. HTML is easy to learn.
